New Holland ENG 3192 – Engine ECU: Injector Cylinder 2 Warning - Open Load
Issue description
The engine control system has detected a break in electrical continuity (an open circuit) on the circuit that controls the fuel injector for cylinder number 2. Because the circuit is open, the control module cannot send the electrical pulse required to actuate the injector, resulting in a misfire, rough running, and loss of power.

Check the cause
Verify the fault code is active using a diagnostic scan tool.
Inspect the wiring harness connecting the Engine ECU to the cylinder 2 fuel injector. Look for visible damage, chafing, or disconnected plugs.
Disconnect the cylinder 2 injector connector and check for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture inside the plug.
Use a digital multimeter to measure the resistance (Ohms) across the pins of the cylinder 2 injector coil. An infinite reading (OL) confirms the injector solenoid has failed internally (open circuit).
If the injector tests within specification, test the continuity of the wiring harness from the injector connector back to the Engine ECU pins. Check for a broken wire or a loose ground.
Repair steps
Disconnect the machine's battery to prevent electrical shorts and depressurize the fuel system.
Gain access to the fuel injectors.
Depending on the engine model, this may require removing the engine cover or the valve cover (if the injectors are internally wired).
Disconnect the electrical connector from the cylinder 2 fuel injector.
If the diagnostic tests pointed to a wiring issue, repair the broken wire or replace the injector wiring harness.
If the injector itself is faulty (open coil), thoroughly clean the area around the injector to prevent dirt from entering the cylinder head.
Disconnect the high-pressure fuel line from the injector and cap the rail fitting to prevent contamination.
Remove the injector hold-down clamp/bolt and carefully extract the injector from the cylinder head.
Clean the injector bore and ensure the old copper sealing washer is removed from the bottom of the bore.
Install the new injector with a new copper sealing washer and O-rings.
Torque the injector hold-down clamp and high-pressure fuel line to the OEM specifications.
Reconnect the electrical harness and the battery.
Bleed the fuel system if required by your specific engine model, start the engine, and use a diagnostic tool to clear the ENG 3192 fault code.
