   Visually inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector at the Cylinder 5 fuel injector for chafed wires, broken wires, melted insulation, or loose/corroded connector pins.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts or ECU damage during the repair.

   Remove the engine valve cover or acoustic covers as necessary to gain access to the fuel injectors and the injector wiring harness.

Remove the injector hold-down clamp/bolt. Extract the injector and discard the old copper sealing washer. Install the new injector with a new copper crush washer and torque the hold-down clamp to OEM specifications. Reinstall the high-pressure fuel line and torque to spec.

   Reconnect the electrical connector to the injector. Reinstall any removed engine covers.

   Reconnect the battery. Use a diagnostic scan tool to clear the ENG 3204 fault code from the EDC.
