New Holland ENG 3207 – Engine ECU: Cylinder6 Warning - Application Dependent
Issue description
Indicates an electrical or fueling anomaly detected on the fuel injector for Cylinder 6. The Engine Control Unit has detected an irregular condition (such as an unexpected voltage drop, resistance issue, or engine speed decay/imbalance) specific to the Cylinder 6 injector circuit.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- New Holland T8 Series (T8.320, T8.350, T8.380, T8.410, T8.435)
- New Holland T9 Series
- New Holland CR/CX Series Combines
Check the cause
Check for related fault codes (such as 3208, 3209, 3210, or 3211) that point to a specific electrical failure.
Inspect the engine wiring harness leading to the Cylinder 6 injector for chafing, melted wires, or a short circuit to ground.
Disconnect the Cylinder 6 injector and test the electrical resistance across its terminals using a multimeter to check for an internal solenoid failure.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the machine's battery to prevent electrical arcing or ECU damage.
Access the Injector
Remove the engine valve cover or injector access panels to reach the Cylinder 6 fuel injector.
Repair Wiring
If the diagnostic checks revealed a short or open circuit in the injection cable, repair or replace the damaged section of the wiring harness.
Replace the Injector
If the wiring is intact but the injector failed the resistance test or is mechanically failing to deliver fuel: Disconnect the high-pressure fuel line and leak-off pipe from the Cylinder 6 injector. Remove the injector hold-down clamp. Pull the faulty injector. Clean the injector cup/bore thoroughly. Install the new injector with a new nozzle washer and sealing O-ring. Reinstall the hold-down clamp and torque to OEM specifications. Reconnect the high-pressure fuel line and leak-off pipe.
Reassembly and Testing
Reconnect the battery, clear the fault codes from the Engine ECU, and run the engine to verify that the code does not return and the engine runs smoothly without misfires.
