New Holland ENG 3212 – EDC (Electronic Diesel Control): Bank1 - Application Dependent / Bank 1 - No Signal
Issue description
An electrical fault in the fuel injection system, specifically on the injector circuit for Bank 1 (cylinders 1, 2, and 3). The system has detected an anomaly such as an open load, a short circuit to ground on the low side, or a short circuit to the battery on the high side of the injector cable or the injector solenoid itself.

Check the cause
Verify battery voltage is fully charged, as low voltage can trigger false injector errors
Inspect the Bank 1 fuel injector wiring harness for chafing, melting, or loose connections at the injector solenoid valves and EDC connector, including the valve cover gasket pass-through
Test the resistance of the Bank 1 injector solenoid coils using a digital multimeter (expected: 0.4 to 0.5 ohms)
Check for continuity and short circuits to ground or battery voltage on both the high-side and low-side pins between the EDC and injector connectors
Repair steps
Disconnect battery
Turn off the machine and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical arcing or EDC damage.
Locate harness
Gain access to the top end of the engine and locate the Bank 1 injector wiring harness.
Disconnect harness
Disconnect the harness from the EDC and the individual injectors for Bank 1.
Replace faulty injector
Based on your diagnostic checks, if an injector coil is found to be out of specification (open or shorted internally), remove and replace the faulty fuel injector.
Replace wiring harness
If the injectors test fine but the wiring harness has high resistance, an open circuit, or a short, remove the old injector wiring harness and install a new OEM replacement harness. Ensure the connectors on the injector solenoid valves are torqued to the correct specification (typically 1.36 - 1.92 Nm).
Reconnect battery
Reconnect the battery.
Clear fault codes
Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) or FPT EASY diagnostic tool to clear the inactive fault codes from the EDC.
Verify repair
Start the engine and verify that it runs smoothly on all cylinders without triggering the ENG 3212 code.
