New Holland ENG 3214 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / Bosch EDC7: Bank1 Warning - Application Dependent

An electrical anomaly, abnormal current draw, or signal warning detected on the Bank 1 fuel injector circuit. The ECU has detected that the electrical signature of the injector circuit does not match expected operating parameters, usually caused by a failing injector solenoid, a short circuit, or an open load in the wiring harness.

   Inspect the engine wiring harness leading to the Bank 1 injectors for chafing, melted insulation, or pinch points shorting to the engine block or ground.

   Disconnect the main injector harness connector at the EDC7 ECU (89-pin connector) and check for pushed-out pins, corrosion, or oil/fuel wicking.

   Measure the resistance of the Bank 1 injector solenoids using a multimeter and compare against OEM specifications to identify internal shorts or open circuits.

   Test the wiring from the ECU connector to the individual injector plugs for continuity and ensure there is no short-to-ground.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Harness

   Depending on the engine model, remove any engine covers or the valve cover (if the engine utilizes an internal under-valve-cover injector harness) to access the Bank 1 injectors.

   Replace or Repair Wiring

   If the harness is visibly damaged or fails the continuity test, replace the injector wiring harness. If the damage is isolated to the ECU plug, splice in a new Bosch EDC7 connector pigtail using a repair kit.

   Replace Faulty Injector

   If the wiring tests perfectly but an injector failed the Ohm test, remove the high-pressure fuel line and hold-down clamp, and replace the faulty Bank 1 injector.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect all harnesses, ensuring the ECU connector is fully seated and locked. Reinstall any removed covers.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the ON position, and use a CNH diagnostic tool (EST) to clear the inactive fault codes. Test run the engine to verify the repair.
