New Holland ENG 3299 – Engine ECU: Cylinder 3 Specific Errors - No Signal

The engine control system is not detecting an electrical signal from the fuel injector solenoid valve on cylinder number 3.

• New Holland CR9090, CX8080 Elevation, and CX8090 Elevation Tier 4A Combines

   Inspect the engine wiring harness between the Engine ECU and the Cylinder 3 fuel injector for chafed wires, open circuits, or shorts to ground.

   Check the connectors at both the Cylinder 3 injector and the Engine ECU for loose pins, pushed-out terminals, moisture, or corrosion.

   Measure the resistance of the Cylinder 3 injector solenoid valve using a multimeter to verify it falls within the OEM specified range (an open circuit inside the injector will cause a 'No Signal' code).

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes during repair.

   Repair or replace wiring harness

   If the diagnostic checks reveal a broken wire or damaged connector in the harness, repair the wiring or replace the engine wiring harness section.

   Access fuel injector

   If the wiring and connectors test good, the fault lies within the injector itself. Remove the valve cover (if the injectors are under the cover) or access the fuel rail.

   Disconnect injector connections

   Disconnect the high-pressure fuel line and the electrical connector from the Cylinder 3 injector.

   Remove faulty injector

   Remove the hold-down clamp and extract the faulty Cylinder 3 fuel injector.

   Install new injector

   Clean the injector bore and install the new fuel injector with new O-rings and copper sealing washers.

   Secure injector

   Reinstall the hold-down clamp and torque to OEM specifications.

   Reconnect connections

   Reconnect the high-pressure fuel line and the electrical connector.

   Finalize installation

   Reconnect the battery, bleed the fuel system if required, and clear the fault codes using a diagnostic tool.

    Verify repair

    Run the engine and verify that the code does not return and that the engine runs smoothly.
