New Holland ENG 3306 – Engine ECU (EDC7): Cylinder 4 Specific Errors - Signal Not Plausible

This fault code indicates that the engine control module is receiving an erratic, incorrect, or implausible electrical signal (or detecting an implausible mechanical response) from the fuel injector on Cylinder 4. This is typically caused by a failing injector solenoid, a short circuit (high or low side) in the injector wiring harness, an open circuit, or a mechanical failure within the injector itself.

   Connect an approved diagnostic tool, record the code, and clear it. Run the machine under normal operating conditions to verify if the code returns as an active fault.

   Remove the injector/valve cover and inspect the wiring harness leading to the Cylinder 4 injector for chafing, melted insulation, or loose connections.

   Disconnect the injector harness from the Cylinder 4 injector at the connector. Use a multi-meter to check for continuity from the injector's terminal 1 (high side) to the chassis ground. There should not be continuity. If continuity exists, the injector solenoid coil is shorted to ground internally, and the injector must be replaced.

   Test the wiring harness between the EDC7 Engine ECU and the Cylinder 4 injector connector for open circuits or shorts to ground/battery.

    Reinstall the hold-down clamp and torque the bolt to the exact OEM specification for your specific engine model.
