Issue description
The Engine Control Unit is not receiving the expected Torque/Speed Control 1 (TSC1) message from the Transmission (TR) controller over the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus within the required timeframe while the system is in an active state. This indicates a communication breakdown between the engine and the transmission networks.

Check the cause
Check for accompanying codes (such as 3336, 3338, 3339, or 3652) which usually indicate a total CAN bus failure or severed main harness rather than a single module issue.
Verify power and ground to the transmission controller to ensure it is receiving proper battery voltage and has a solid ground connection.
Perform a CAN bus resistance check with the battery disconnected by measuring resistance across the CAN High and CAN Low pins (should read approximately 60 ohms).
Visually inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the Engine ECU and the Transmission controller for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out pins.
Repair steps
Power down the machine, turn off the master disconnect switch, and disconnect the negative battery cable.
Ensure the machine is fully powered down before beginning electrical work.
Locate the CAN bus wiring harness connecting the Engine ECU to the Transmission controller.
Identify the specific harness section for inspection.
Disconnect the harness connectors at both modules. Inspect the pins for corrosion, fretting, or moisture. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner if necessary.
Check for physical or environmental damage at the connection points.
Perform a continuity test on the CAN High and CAN Low wires from end to end.
If an open circuit, high resistance, or a short to ground is found, trace the harness to locate the chafe point or break.
Repair the damaged wiring or replace the affected CAN-bus wire harness section.
Fix any identified breaks or shorts in the harness.
Reconnect all modules, ensuring the connectors are fully seated and locked into place.
Verify secure connections at both the Engine ECU and Transmission controller.
Reconnect the battery.
Restore power to the machine.
Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST), clear the inactive fault codes, and test operate the machine.
Verify that communication is restored and the code does not return.
