ENG 3362

New Holland ENG 3362 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): EDC: Torque to Quantity Map - Not Plausible

Issue description

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) has detected an internal software or memory error where the calculated engine torque does not plausibly match the mapped fuel injection quantity. This is typically caused by incorrect programming/flashing of the ECU or an internal hardware defect within the module's memory.

Applies to these machines

  • New Holland T8.xxx Series Tractors
  • New Holland Skid Steer Loaders (SSL) L220
  • New Holland Compact Track Loaders (CTL) SR175

Check the cause

  1. Connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port.

  2. Verify the current software version and data set loaded onto the Engine ECU.

  3. Check the machine's service history to see if the ECU was recently replaced, flashed, or tuned, as incorrect programming is the primary trigger for this code.

Repair steps

  1. Re-flash the ECU

Using the dealer diagnostic tool, attempt to flash the Engine Control Unit correctly with the proper, up-to-date data set for that specific machine's VIN/PIN.

  2. Clear and Retest

Clear the fault codes, cycle the ignition key, and run the engine to see if the code returns.

  3. Replace the ECU

If the error persists after a successful re-flash with the correct data set, the ECU has suffered an internal defect (such as a corrupted EEPROM or memory failure) and must be completely replaced.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Engine Control Unit (ECU) / EDC Module

A used or new replacement ECU cannot be simply plugged in; it must be flashed and programmed by an authorized dealer using the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to match the specific machine's immobilizer and fuel mapping data.
