New Holland ENG 3372 – Engine Control Module (ECM) / EDC: Injection Quantity Adjustment failure - Invalid Adjustment Value
Issue description
This code indicates that the Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected an invalid, missing, or corrupted IMA (Injector Quantity Adjustment) code for one or more of the fuel injectors. Modern common-rail diesel injectors have unique alphanumeric calibration codes printed on them that must be programmed into the ECM so it can precisely adjust the fuel delivery for each specific cylinder. If the ECM reads a value in its memory that does not match a valid format, it triggers this code.
Applies to these machines
4 machines- New Holland T8.xxx Series (e.g., T8.275, T8.390)
- New Holland T9 Series
- New Holland CR Series Combines (e.g., CR8.90, CR9090)
- New Holland CX Series Combines
Check the cause
Check for accompanying codes such as ENG 3373 (EEPROM Adjustment Value Not Readable) or ENG 3374 (Invalid EEPROM Adjustment Value Checksum). If present, the ECM's internal memory may be failing.
Use the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to read the current IMA codes programmed into the ECM.
Remove the engine valve cover (if necessary) or inspect the exposed injector bodies to physically read the alphanumeric IMA code stamped on the top or side of each fuel injector. Compare these physical codes to the ones read by the EST.
Repair steps
Connect Diagnostic Tool
Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) laptop to the machine's diagnostic port.
Navigate to Programming
Open the Engine Controller (EDC) module in the software and navigate to the 'Programming' or 'Configuration' menu.
Select Injector Coding
Select the 'Injector IMA Coding' or 'Injection Quantity Adjustment' function.
Input Correct Codes
Manually enter the correct alphanumeric IMA code for each cylinder exactly as it is printed on the physical fuel injector.
Save and Flash
Save the configuration to write the new values to the ECM's EEPROM.
Power Cycle
Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and wait at least 30 seconds to allow the ECM to power down and permanently store the values.
Verify Repair
Turn the key back ON, clear the inactive fault codes, and start the engine. Verify that ENG 3372 does not return.
ECM Replacement (If necessary)
If the ECM refuses to accept the code, or if the code returns immediately after a key cycle alongside EEPROM errors (3373/3374), the ECM itself has suffered a memory failure and must be replaced and reprogrammed.
