Technically, this means the Engine Control Unit (ECU) is commanding the EGR valve to move to a specific position, but the desired position cannot be reached. This is most commonly caused by the EGR valve sticking or binding inside its assembly due to carbon buildup, or a mismatch/failure in the EGR valve position sensor.

   Use an Electronic Service Tool (EST) to confirm that fault code 3663 is currently ACTIVE.

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the ECU to the EGR valve for signs of abrasion, melting, or physical damage. Wiggle the harness while the machine is running to check for intermittent electrical connections.

   Disconnect and inspect the ECU and EGR valve connectors. Ensure all pins are secure, tight, and completely free of corrosion or moisture.

   Remove the EGR valve and manually check if the valve is binding or sticking inside the assembly due to heavy soot or carbon buildup.
