New Holland ENG 3705 – ENGINE ECU: Injector Adjustment Programming: Check of missing injector adjustment value programming

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) has lost or is missing the specific calibration code (IQA or Injector Quantity Adjustment code) for a specific fuel injector (typically Cylinder 2 or 3). The ECU requires these unique alphanumeric codes to deliver the precise amount of fuel; without them, the engine may run poorly, idle loudly, or operate in a derated state.

   Check recent service history to see if the Engine ECU was recently flashed, updated, or replaced, which can result in missing programming.

   Check if a fuel injector was recently replaced. If a new injector was installed but the technician failed to write the new IQA code into the ECU, this code will trigger.

   Visually inspect the physical fuel injector for the affected cylinder and write down the alphanumeric calibration code printed directly on the injector head.

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the New Holland Electronic Service Tool (EST) with the Easy-Engine software to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Read fault codes

   Navigate to the engine diagnostics menu and read the active fault codes to confirm exactly which cylinder is missing its programming.

   Compare injector codes

   Check the injector codes currently stored in the ECU and compare them to the physical codes you wrote down from the injectors.

   Reprogram the ECU

   Use the EST to write the correct injector calibration code for the affected cylinder into the Engine Control Unit.

   Clear codes and test

   Clear the fault codes, cycle the ignition key, and start the engine.

   Replace ECU if necessary

   If the EST fails to flash the ECU, or if the code returns immediately after a key cycle because the module cannot retain memory, the Engine ECU has an internal defect and must be replaced.
