New Holland ENG 3738 – EDC (Electronic Diesel Control): EDC - Analog Digital Converter (ADC): Diagnostic fault check to report multiple error while checking the complete ROM-memory
Issue description
Critical internal hardware or memory failure within the engine's control module. The controller has run a self-diagnostic check on its Read-Only Memory (ROM) and detected multiple errors.
Applies to these machines
6 machines- 200 Series
- L180
- L185
- C185
- T4 Series (T4F, T4N, T4V, T4LP)
- T5 Series (Dual Command, Electro Command)
Check the cause
Connect the New Holland Electronic Service Tool (EST) to prepare for module reprogramming (standard wiring or sensor checks will not resolve this internal ROM failure)
Repair steps
Reprogram the EDC
Using the New Holland Electronic Service Tool (EST), attempt to flash/reprogram the Engine Controller to see if the ROM error can be overwritten or resolved.
Replace the Engine Controller
If the fault code persists after reprogramming, the internal memory is permanently corrupted or damaged. The EDC must be physically replaced.
Restore Self-Learning Parameters
If the EDC is replaced, you must use the New Holland Service Tool procedure to restore the engine's self-learning parameters to the new module so it can communicate properly with the machine.
Parts you might need
(1)Engine Controller / Electronic Diesel Control (EDC) Module
The exact part number is highly specific to the machine's serial number, emission tier, and exact F5C engine configuration. Look up the specific Engine Control Module for your exact model in the CNH parts catalog.
