New Holland ENG 3741 – Engine Control Module (ECM) / Electronic Diesel Control (EDC) unit: EDC - Power stages, Injector: Wrong set response time / ECM Internal Error

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) times out during startup, causing a synchronization failure or an incorrect response time setting within the power stages that control the fuel injectors.

• Skid Steer Loaders (SSL) & Compact Track Loaders (CTL) (e.g., 200 Series)
• Tractors (e.g., T4, T5, T6, T7 Series)
• Combines (e.g., CR9090, CX8080 Elevation, CX8090 Elevation)

   Verify that the machine's battery voltage and startup power delivery to the ECM are stable and within specification.

   Connect the OEM diagnostic service tool to check the current software version and data set on the ECU.

   Flash the ECU

   Try to re-flash the Engine Control Unit (ECU) correctly with the proper data set using the New Holland service tool.

   Test the Machine

   Cycle the key and attempt a normal startup to see if the fault code clears and the timeout issue is resolved.

   Replace the Module

   If the fault persists after flashing the software, the ECU has suffered a hard internal failure and must be replaced.

   Restore Parameters

   If the EDC/ECM is replaced, you MUST follow the appropriate service tool procedure to restore the engine's self-learning parameters.
