Check the cause
Connect the New Holland Electronic Service Tool (EST)
Reload the Engine Dataset by flashing or updating the engine controller with the latest software to rule out data corruption regarding injection angles and energizing times
Clear the codes and run the machine to see if the fault persists
Repair steps
Disconnect battery
Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical arcing.
Locate EDC
Locate the EDC (Engine Controller Unit) on the engine block.
Disconnect connectors
Disconnect the EDC7 connectors (lever-style connectors) from the ECU.
Remove controller
Unbolt and remove the faulty Engine Controller.
Install new controller
Install the new Engine Controller and reconnect the wiring harnesses, ensuring the lever pulls the connector securely into position.
Program module
Once the new EDC is installed, you must use the New Holland service tool to restore the self-learning parameters and program the new module to the machine.
