New Holland ENG 3755 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / EDC (Electronic Diesel Control): EDC - Level 2 Monitoring: Diagnostic fault check to report the error due to torque comparison

The engine's control system has detected a plausibility error. The controller continuously calculates the expected engine torque based on current operating parameters (fuel injection, RPM, load) and compares it to the actual measured/calculated torque. When these two values do not match within an acceptable threshold, the system triggers a Level 2 Monitoring fault to prevent potential runaway conditions or mechanical damage.

   Check for Associated Codes: Look for other active fault codes related to fuel pressure, injector circuits, or engine speed sensors. A failing sensor can feed bad data to the EDC, causing the torque calculation mismatch.

   Software Verification: Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify the integrity of the current engine software dataset.

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Reload Engine Dataset

   Reflash/reload the Engine Dataset to the EDC. This overwrites any corrupted software that may be causing the false torque comparison error.

   Test the Machine

   Clear the fault codes and operate the machine under load to see if ENG 3755 returns.

   Replace the EDC (If necessary)

   If the fault persists after successfully reloading the engine dataset, the Engine Controller (EDC) has suffered an internal hardware failure and must be replaced.

   Restore Parameters

   If the EDC is replaced, you must follow the appropriate service tool procedure to restore all self-learning parameters (such as Zero Fuel Calibration and injector coding) to the new module.
