New Holland ENG 3834 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Throttle Valve Actuator - ECU Power stages: Throttle valve actuator power stage: SRC High.

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) monitors the electrical signal of the Throttle Valve Actuator (TVA) position sensor. "SRC High" (Source High) indicates that the sensed voltage from the TVA power stage is higher than the maximum threshold (typically > 5.2 V).

   Verify that the fault code is still present and in an active state

   Check the throttle valve actuator connector (X-016 or pins A34/A49 on the 60-pin engine connector) for secure connection, corrosion, abrasion, or damage

   Trace the wire harness back to the ECU to check for shorts to the battery or ground, which would cause the high voltage reading

   Inspect the Throttle Valve Actuator mechanically for a sticking or jammed valve flap

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Harness/Connector Repair

   If the diagnostic checks reveal damage to the wiring harness or the connector, repair or replace the affected wiring. Reconnect and test to see if the code clears.

   Remove the TVA

   If the wiring is intact but the valve is jammed or the internal sensor has failed, the TVA must be replaced. Disconnect the electrical connector to the TVA and the air pressure/temperature sensor.

   Unbolt the Actuator

   Remove the intake tube and unbolt the Throttle Valve Actuator from the intake manifold.

   Install the New TVA

   Mount the new Throttle Valve Actuator and intake tube. Torque the mounting bolts and nuts to 20 - 30 N·m (15 - 22 lb ft).

   Reconnect and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the electrical connections, reconnect the battery, and use a diagnostic tool to clear the ENG 3834 fault code. Run the engine to verify the code does not return.
