New Holland F-PTO 8006 – Front PTO (F-PTO) Controller: Low side driver is stuck on and no current is sensed.

The control module is commanding the ground circuit (the "low side" driver) of the Front PTO solenoid to turn ON, but the system detects zero electrical current flowing through the circuit. This condition typically points to an open circuit. The most common culprits are a disconnected solenoid plug, a broken wire in the harness (specifically on the return/ground side), or a completely failed (open) solenoid coil.

   Inspect the electrical connector at the Front PTO solenoid valve for disconnected plugs, pushed-out pins, or heavy corrosion.

   Trace the wiring harness from the Front PTO solenoid back to the F-PTO controller and test the low side (ground/return) wire for continuity to ensure there are no breaks or chafing.

   Unplug the Front PTO solenoid and use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the solenoid coil pins. If the reading is 'OL' (infinite resistance), the coil is internally open.

   Verify that the 12V supply to the PTO circuit is intact (a related code, 8010, indicates a low voltage supply often caused by a blown fuse).

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor engine, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Locate the Solenoid

   Locate the Front PTO control valve block, typically mounted near the front axle/PTO housing assembly.

   Disconnect and Remove

   Unplug the electrical harness from the faulty Front PTO solenoid. If the solenoid coil tested bad, remove the retaining nut holding the coil to the valve stem and slide the old coil off. (If the entire valve cartridge is damaged, unthread the cartridge from the manifold block).

   Install New Part

   Slide the new solenoid coil onto the valve stem and secure it with the retaining nut (or thread in the new cartridge valve and torque to OEM specifications).

   Reconnect Wiring

   Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the weather-pack seal clicks firmly into place.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Reconnect the battery. Use a diagnostic tool or DTC eraser to clear the F-PTO 8006 code from the module. Start the tractor and engage the Front PTO switch to verify proper operation and ensure the code does not return.
