New Holland F-PTO 8007 – Front PTO Controller, Armrest Controller (ATC), or ICU (Instrumentation Control Unit): Front PTO switch is in the on position when the engine is off

The system is detecting an active engagement signal or physical solenoid engagement for the front Power Take-Off (PTO) while the engine is not running, which is a safety and operational fault.

   Verify the physical position of the Front PTO switch in the cab to ensure it was not simply left in the ON position by the operator when the engine was shut down.

   Inspect the Front PTO switch for mechanical binding or internal electrical shorts that would cause it to send a constant 'ON' signal.

   Check the Front PTO solenoid to determine if it is mechanically stuck in the 'on' position or if the circuit is shorted to power.

   Check the 12VU2 voltage supply and inspect for any blown fuses (a related code 8010 often triggers alongside this if the 12VU2 voltage supply is low).

   Inspect the wiring harness connecting the cab switch, the PTO controller, and the PTO solenoid for open circuits or shorts to ground.

   Secure the machine

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and ensure the machine is safe to work on.

   Inspect and replace PTO switch

   Inspect the Front PTO switch in the cab. If the switch is physically broken, stuck, or fails a multimeter continuity test, remove the console panel and replace the PTO switch assembly.

   Locate Front PTO solenoid

   If the switch is functioning correctly, locate the Front PTO solenoid on the front PTO unit.

   Test and replace solenoid

   Test the solenoid for proper operation. If it is mechanically stuck open/on or electrically shorted, remove and replace the Front PTO solenoid.

   Repair wiring and fuses

   Inspect and repair any damaged wiring or blown fuses in the PTO control circuit.

   Clear fault codes

   Reassemble all components and use a diagnostic tool (or DTC eraser) to clear the fault codes from the ECU.

   Test operation

   Start the engine and test the Front PTO engagement and disengagement to verify the repair was successful.
