New Holland IC 1205 – IC (Instrument Cluster): Hydraulic Enable (EH Machines) - Hydraulic Enable Output, Short to Power

The system has detected that the electrical output circuit responsible for energizing the hydraulic enable solenoid is receiving voltage (shorted to a power source) when it should not be. The fault specifically triggers when the ignition is ON, the commanded state for the hydraulic enable is "Low" (off), but the circuit is still energized.

   Use the Electronic Service Tool to verify that the fault code is currently active. Record the number of occurrences and engine hours at the last occurrence.

   Locate the Hydraulic Enable Solenoid (also referred to in the hydraulic schematics as the Loader Pilot Interlock Valve Solenoid).

   Visually inspect the wiring harness running from the Instrument Cluster to the hydraulic enable solenoid. Look for chafed wire insulation that may be rubbing against a 12V power source or another energized wire.

   Disconnect the harness at the solenoid and the Instrument Cluster. Use a multimeter to check the hydraulic enable output wire for continuity to battery voltage.

   Clear Codes

   Prior to physical repairs, attempt to clear the fault codes using the Electronic Service Tool to see if the code immediately returns (hard fault).

   Repair Wiring

   If your multimeter test reveals a short to power in the harness, trace the wire to find the damaged section. Repair the wire using proper OEM-approved splicing techniques and heat shrink, or replace the affected harness section.

   Check the Instrument Cluster

   If the wiring harness tests perfectly fine (no short to power in the wires), the fault is likely an internal failure within the Instrument Cluster itself (a shorted internal driver). In this case, the Instrument Cluster must be replaced and reprogrammed.

   Re-test

   After repairing the wiring or replacing the IC, turn the ignition ON, command the hydraulic enable switch, and verify that the machine's hydraulics operate correctly without the IC 1205 code returning.
