New Holland ICU 14002 – ICU: Trans oil filter switch closed to ground on power up.
Issue description
The system detects a closed circuit (short to ground) at the transmission oil filter restriction/pressure switch immediately when the machine is powered on. This indicates an electrical fault, such as a failed switch that is stuck closed or a wiring harness that has rubbed through and shorted to the chassis ground.
Applies to these machines

Check the cause
Trace the wiring harness from the transmission oil filter switch back to the ICU for areas where wire insulation may have rubbed through against the frame or transmission housing, causing a short to ground.
Disconnect the switch and inspect the connector pins to ensure they are not damaged, corroded, or pushed out of position.
With the switch disconnected, turn the key to the ON position; if the fault code changes to an 'open circuit' code, the switch has failed internally, but if it remains 'closed to ground', the short is in the wiring harness.
Verify that the transmission oil filter is not severely clogged and that the fluid is at the correct level.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the machine, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.
Locate the Switch
Locate the transmission oil pressure/filter switch, which is typically threaded into the transmission oil filter housing or the side of the transmission block.
Repair Wiring
If diagnostic checks revealed a shorted wire, splice and repair the damaged section of the harness using weather-sealed connectors.
Replace the Switch
If the switch is faulty, disconnect the electrical connector, place a catch pan underneath, unscrew the faulty switch, and thread the new OEM switch into the port, tightening to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Reassemble and Test
Reconnect the electrical connector and battery, turn the key to the ON position to verify the ICU 14002 code is no longer active, then start the machine and check for fluid leaks.
