New Holland ICU 14019 – ICU (Instrument Control Unit): ATC Off Line

This fault code indicates a communication failure on the CAN data bus. Specifically, the Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) module is no longer communicating with the tractor's main instrument cluster over the data cable.

   Check the fuse panel for a blown fuse related to the ATC module or cab climate control.

   Inspect the CAN data cable and wiring harness running between the ATC module and the ICU for chafed wires, pinched cables, or loose connections.

   Using a multimeter, verify that the ATC module is receiving proper 12V battery voltage and has a solid ground connection.

   Disconnect the harnesses at both the ATC module and the ICU and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-out terminals.

   Power Down

   Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes during testing.

   Fuse Replacement

   If the ATC fuse is blown, replace it with a fuse of the exact same amperage. Reconnect the battery and turn the key ON to see if the code clears. If the fuse blows immediately, there is a short to ground in the ATC wiring or the module itself.

   Harness Repair

   If the fuse is good but communication is still lost, use a multimeter to perform a continuity test on the CAN High and CAN Low wires between the ATC and the ICU. Repair or splice any broken wires found in the harness.

   Module Replacement

   If power, ground, and CAN continuity are all verified as good, the ATC module has suffered an internal failure and must be replaced.

   Clear Codes

   After repairs are made or the module is replaced, use the tractor's diagnostic menu (e.g., the H8 menu on T7 series tractors) or an electronic service tool to clear the stored EEPROM error codes.
