New Holland INST 10033 – Instrumentation Controller (INST): Controller Memory Error - Loss of Customer Configuration information
Issue description
This code is triggered when the controller's internal memory fails to retain user-defined settings. Specifically, it is logged when the system detects that the English/Metric unit preference or the programmed tire radius setting has been lost.

Check the cause
Manually set the English/Metric display setting and re-enter the correct tire radius, then cycle the key to see if settings are retained
Inspect the wiring harness at the instrument cluster, verifying Connector CN2 has a solid, clean connection to the battery and is properly grounded
Check for loose battery terminals, damaged ground straps, or corroded pins at the A-post display causing intermittent power loss
Repair steps
Reprogram settings
Turn the key ON and navigate the instrument cluster menu to re-enter the customer configuration data (Tire Radius and English/Metric units).
Power cycle
Turn the key OFF, wait for the system to power down completely, and turn the key back ON.
Disconnect battery
If the INST 10033 code returns or the settings are lost again, power down the machine and disconnect the battery.
Access cluster
Remove the A-post cover or dashboard trim to access the rear of the Instrument Cluster.
Clean contacts
Disconnect Connector CN2. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and ensure the ground wire has zero resistance to the chassis.
Re-test
Reconnect the cluster and re-test.
Replace cluster
If the code persists after verifying good power and ground, the internal memory of the Instrumentation Controller has failed. The Instrument Cluster must be replaced.
Install and program
Install the new Instrument Cluster, flash/program it with the correct machine software (if required by the dealer tool), and input the customer configuration settings.
