New Holland INST 5010 – Instrumentation Controller (INST): Engine Oil Pressure sensor is failed in the Engine Controller

The Data Bus has signaled to the instrumentation that the engine oil pressure information is in error or is not available from the engine controller. The most common failure mode is a direct failure of the engine oil pressure sensor itself, though it can occasionally be caused by a software execution error or an incorrect controller configuration.

   Inspect Wiring: Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the engine oil pressure sensor for damage, corrosion, open circuits, or shorts to ground.

   Locate the engine oil pressure sensor

   Locate the engine oil pressure sensor on the engine block (location varies by specific engine model, but it is typically found on the side of the engine block near the oil filter or rotary injection pump).

   Disconnect the electrical sensor connector

   Disconnect the electrical sensor connector.

   Unscrew and remove the faulty engine oil pressure sensor.
