New Holland MFD 6007 – MFD/Diff Lock Controller: Both MFD and Auto MFD switches active fault

This code indicates an invalid electrical state where the system is receiving simultaneous active signals from both the manual MFD (Mechanical Front Drive / 4WD) switch and the Auto MFD switch.

   Inspect the MFD switch cluster on the SideWinder™ II armrest for physical damage, sticking buttons, or spilled liquids/debris that might cause contacts to bridge.

   Remove the switch and use a multimeter to test the electrical continuity of the switch contacts in the OFF, Manual MFD, and Auto MFD positions to ensure it is not internally shorted.

   Check the wiring harness between the armrest control panel and the Armrest Controller/TCU for a short-to-voltage or pinched wires.

   Verify there are no underlying CAN-bus communication errors between the Armrest Controller and the TCU.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, apply the parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Switch

   Remove the retaining screws or bezel clips on the armrest control console to lift the panel cover and access the underside of the switches.

   Disconnect

   Locate the MFD switch assembly and carefully unplug the electrical harness connector.

   Remove

   Depress the retaining tabs or remove the mounting screws holding the faulty MFD switch in the armrest bezel, and pull the switch out.

   Replace

   Snap the new OEM MFD switch into the panel.

   Reassemble

   Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the connector seats fully and locks. Reinstall the armrest console cover.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition ON and use your diagnostic tool (or the onboard display) to clear the inactive 6007 fault code.

   Test

   Start the tractor and toggle the MFD system between OFF, Manual, and Auto modes to verify the front axle engages properly and the code does not return.
