New Holland MFD 6010 – MFD/Diff Lock Controller: 12VS1 voltage supply is low. (possible blown fuse*)
Issue description
This code indicates that the 12-volt power supply (specifically the 12VS1 rail) to the Mechanical Front Drive (MFD) or Differential Lock system has dropped below the minimum operating threshold. The system flags this as a critical voltage drop, which is most commonly caused by a blown fuse protecting that specific circuit.
Applies to these machines
1 machine- New Holland T8.xxx Series (T8.275, T8.300, T8.330, T8.360, T8.390)
Check the cause
Inspect the cab fuse panel for a blown 20-Amp fuse on the 12VS1 circuit (typically F-052 or F-062)
Check the wiring harness routing down to the MFD and Differential Lock solenoids for damaged insulation, chafing, loose connectors, or bent pins causing a short to ground
Test the MFD and Diff Lock solenoids for internal coil failures or dead shorts
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, apply the parking brake, and remove the key to ensure the electrical system is unpowered.
Locate the Fuse Box
Access the main fuse panel, which is generally located in the right rear corner of the cab.
Identify and Replace the Fuse
Locate the fuse responsible for the 12VS1 rail (refer to the decal on the inside of the fuse box cover; look for F-052 or F-062). Remove the 20A fuse and test it with a multimeter. If blown, replace it with a new 20A fuse.
Trace Shorts (If Applicable)
If the new fuse blows upon key-on or when engaging the MFD, use a multimeter to trace the 12VS1 circuit down to the MFD solenoid. Repair any damaged wiring or replace the shorted solenoid.
Clear Codes
Once the voltage is restored, use the tractor's onboard diagnostic menu (e.g., the H8 CCU menu on some CNH models) or an Electronic Service Tool (EST) to clear the stored fault codes.
Test Operation
Start the tractor and cycle the MFD and Differential Lock switches to ensure the code does not return and the solenoids engage properly.
