New Holland NH 10001 – Front Suspension Controller: Upper lockout Solenoid error
Issue description
This code indicates an electrical fault—specifically an open circuit, short to ground, or over-current condition—in the circuit for the Upper Lockout Solenoid (Valve 30), which controls the hydraulic flow that locks or adjusts the upper travel limit of the front suspension cylinder.

Check the cause
Check for Swapped Connectors: Verify that the wiring connectors for the Upper Lockout Solenoid (Valve 30) and the Lower Lockout Solenoid (Valve 31) have not been accidentally swapped during previous maintenance.
Inspect the Wiring Harness: Locate connector X507 at the Upper Lockout Solenoid. Inspect the wiring for breaks, chafing, or short circuits (Wire 3280 Orange, Wire 3281 Tan).
Test the Solenoid Coil: Disconnect the harness and use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the solenoid coil pins. An infinite reading indicates an open internal coil, while a reading near zero indicates a dead short.
Check Power Supply/Fuses: Ensure the front suspension module is receiving proper voltage. Related codes (like 10022, 10023, 10024) indicate low voltage on the 12VM, 12VF1, or 12VF3 circuits, which usually points to a blown fuse.
Repair steps
Preparation
Park the tractor on a level surface, lower any front-mounted implements to the ground, turn off the engine, and relieve all hydraulic pressure.
Locate the Valve Block
Locate the front suspension hydraulic control valve block, which is generally mounted near the front axle assembly.
Remove the Faulty Solenoid
Disconnect the X507 wiring harness from the Upper Lockout Solenoid. Remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve stem and slide the electromagnetic coil off the valve cartridge. (Note: If the hydraulic cartridge itself is stuck or leaking, the hydraulic system must be drained/capped, and the cartridge unscrewed from the block).
Install the New Solenoid
Slide the new solenoid coil onto the valve stem and torque the retaining nut to the manufacturer's specification. Reconnect the X507 wiring harness.
Clear Codes
Turn the key to the ON position and use the tractor's HH Menu (diagnostic mode via the EIC center display) or an electronic service tool to clear the inactive NH 10001 code.
Recalibrate Suspension
Perform the front suspension calibration routine to restore full functionality, as replacing suspension solenoids or clearing suspension codes will often trigger code NH 10024 (Front Suspension not calibrated).
