New Holland NH 10007 – Front Suspension Control Module: Go up error, Suspension Unable to return to set point

Issue description

The electronic control unit is commanding the front axle hydraulic suspension (Terraglide system) to return to its calibrated nominal ride height, but the system is physically failing to achieve or detect that position.

Applies to these machines

  • T7.170
  • T7.220
  • T7.235
  • T7.250
  • T7.260
  • T7.270
  • T8.275
  • T8.300
  • T8.330
  • T8.350
  • T8.380
  • T8.410
  • T8010-T8050
  • T6.140 to T6.180
  • T6080
  • TM190

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the front axle position sensor (potentiometer) for damage or rips caused by field debris.

  2. Check the axle position sensor for physical damage, water ingress, or dead spots in its resistance range.

  3. Check the suspension hydraulic pressure (system relief valve pressure should be around 210 bar). Evaluate the ride quality; a harsh, bottomed-out ride or clunking often indicates that the nitrogen-charged accumulators have lost pressure or have internal leakage.

  4. Inspect the front axle pivot points and suspension cylinder for mechanical binding, severe wear, or external hydraulic leaks.

Repair steps

  1. Harness/Sensor Replacement

If the wiring is damaged, repair the harness. If the position sensor is faulty, unbolt the old sensor from the front axle linkage, install the new OEM position sensor, and plug in the harness.

  2. Accumulator Replacement

If the suspension is locked up or bottoming out due to blown accumulators, depressurize the hydraulic system and replace the dual accumulators on the control valve block.

  3. Front Suspension Calibration

After replacing parts, recalibrate the suspension to learn the new set points. Use Method 1 (Manual Jumper: key OFF, jumper pins B & G on diagnostic connector, start engine) or Method 2 (In-Cab: start engine, within 10s push and hold PROG key for 2s until beep). Follow instrument cluster prompts to cycle suspension fully.
