New Holland NH 10024 – Suspension Control Module or ICU (Instrument Cluster Unit) / Armrest Controller: Front Suspension not calibrated / 12VF1 voltage supply is low

Issue description

The electronic control unit (ECU) has lost the minimum and maximum height position parameters for the front axle suspension, meaning it cannot accurately control the suspension's damping or leveling. On specific high-horsepower platforms, this code can alternatively indicate that the 12VF1 voltage supply is low (possible blown fuse).

Check the cause

  1. Check main fuse panel for blown fuses related to the suspension control module (addresses the 12VF1 low voltage supply cause)

  2. Visually inspect the front axle potentiometer and linkage rod for bent linkages, physical damage, or disconnected wiring harnesses

  3. Check for accompanying codes such as NH 10099, 10004, or 10005, which indicate the sensor is reading outside its threshold and will cause calibration to fail

  4. Perform a hydraulic pressure and accumulator test to ensure accumulators are not blown and the valve block is receiving pressure (a harsh ride points to a blown accumulator)

Repair steps

  1. Prepare for manual calibration

    Method 1: Manual Calibration via Enhanced Keypad - Park the tractor on a flat, level surface and ensure the transmission/hydraulic oil is warm.

  2. Initiate manual calibration

    With the key-start in the ON position, depress and hold the Menu/Enter button for 3 seconds.

  3. Wait for calibration mode

    The DMD display will read SETUP_MENU, which will change to CAL after 2 seconds.

  4. Navigate to calibration menu

    Depress the Enter key and navigate to the Front Suspension calibration menu.

  5. Execute manual calibration

    Follow the on-screen prompts. The system will automatically raise the suspension to its maximum height and lower it to its minimum height to learn the potentiometer voltage limits.

  6. Connect EST (Alternative Method)

    Method 2: Electronic Service Tool (EST) - If the manual keypad method is unavailable or fails, connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) diagnostic cable to the tractor's CAN port.

  7. Navigate EST software

    Launch the service software and navigate to the Suspension Control Module.

  8. Select EST calibration routine

    Select the 'Front Suspension Calibration' routine.

  9. Execute EST calibration

    The software will command the suspension lock valves and raise/lower solenoids to cycle the axle, storing the new potentiometer values.

  10. Save parameters

    Cycle the key off and back on to save the parameters.
