New Holland NH 1015 – XCM (Multi-function Control Module) or Hydraulic / Rear Hitch Controller: R/H load sensing pin signal too high

The electronic control module is receiving a voltage signal from the Right-Hand (R/H) draft load sensing pin that exceeds the normal operating range. This typically points to a short to +12V or an open circuit in the sensor itself or its wiring harness, and will likely disable the draft control function.

   Inspect the wiring harness and the connector at the R/H load sensing pin (located at the base of the right lower lift arm) for physical damage, packed dirt, or corrosion.

   Use a multimeter to check the sensor circuit for a short to +12V or a broken/open wire between the sensor connector and the XCM.

   Verify that the sensor is receiving its proper 8V reference voltage (a faulty reference voltage often triggers companion codes NH 1019 or NH 1020).

   Swap the left and right load sensing pins (if identical). If the fault changes to NH 1017, the pin has failed internally. If the fault remains NH 1015, the issue is in the wiring harness or control module.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Disconnect Sensor

   Locate the R/H load sensing pin on the right lower lift arm linkage. Unplug the electrical connector.

   Remove the Pin

   Support the lower lift arm to remove tension. Remove the retaining bolt/hardware securing the load sensing pin, and slide the faulty pin out of the linkage.

   Install New Sensor

   Clean the bore, insert the new load sensing pin, and secure it with the retaining hardware.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back into the new sensor and reconnect the battery.

   Hydraulic Lift Autocalibration

   Run the tractor's automated hitch calibration routine via the dash/monitor as outlined in the specific model's operator manual. This is critical to restore proper system function and clear Fault Code NH 1024.
