New Holland NH 1019 – Hitch Controller / Hydraulic Lift Controller: Load sensing pin voltage too low
Issue description
The controller is receiving a voltage signal from the draft load sensing pin (which measures the pulling force on the 3-point hitch) that is below the acceptable minimum threshold. This is typically caused by an open circuit, a short to ground in the wiring harness, or a complete internal failure of the sensor itself.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness connecting the rear hitch load sensing pins to the chassis harness for chafing, pinched wires, or disconnected plugs.
Disconnect the load sensing pin connector, turn the key to the ON position, and use a multimeter to check the reference voltage from the controller (should be approximately 8 Volts).
Check the signal and ground wires for continuity back to the hitch controller, ensuring there is no short to ground.
If the 8V reference and ground are present and the wiring is intact, the fault is internal to the load sensing pin.
Repair steps
Prepare tractor for repair
Park the tractor on a level surface, lower the 3-point hitch to the ground to remove all tension, and turn off the engine.
Disconnect harness
Disconnect the electrical harness from the faulty draft load sensing pin on the lower link.
Remove retaining hardware
Remove the retaining hardware (snap rings, locking bolts, or keeper plates) holding the load sensing pin in place.
Remove old pin
Carefully drive out the old load sensing pin.
Clean bore
Clean the bore of the lower link to ensure smooth installation.
Install new pin
Install the new load sensing pin, secure the retaining hardware, and reconnect the electrical harness.
Calibrate hitch
Turn on the tractor and perform a Hydraulic Lift Autocalibration to calibrate the new sensor to the hitch controller.
Bypass Option - Disconnect harnesses
If installing a Draft Load Sensing Pin Elimination Kit (Bypass Kit), disconnect the harnesses from both draft pins.
Bypass Option - Install dummy modules
Plug the dummy modules from the elimination kit directly into the tractor's wiring harness.
Bypass Option - Secure modules
Secure the modules out of the way with zip ties. This feeds a fixed, acceptable voltage back to the controller, permanently clearing the NH 1019 code.
