Check the cause

  1. Check the main control panel connectors (e.g., C120 and C121 on TM series, or X-300 on newer models) to ensure they are fully seated and not damaged.

  2. Inspect pins inside the harness connectors for pushed-out, bent, or corroded conditions.

  3. Inspect the wiring harness between the control panel and the XCM/EDC for chafing, breaks, or pinch points.

  4. Verify that the control panel is receiving power (e.g., check the 5A F-009 fuse on T5 models).

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and ensure the electrical system is safe to work on.

  2. Access the Panel

Remove the trim or console housing to access the rear of the EDC control panel or Command Arm.

  3. Disconnect and Inspect

Unplug the wiring harness from the control panel. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner if dirt or light corrosion is present.

  4. Test Continuity

Use a digital multimeter to check for continuity on the ground and power supply wires leading to the panel.

  5. Reconnect

Reconnect the harness securely, ensuring the locking tabs click into place.

  6. Replace if Faulty

If the wiring is intact and power/ground are present but the code persists, the control panel itself or the XCM/EDC module has suffered an internal failure and must be replaced.

  7. Clear Codes and Calibrate

Once the repair is made, clear the error code. Note: Fixing this code often triggers NH 1024 ("Perform Hydraulic Lift Autocalibration"). You will need to run the hydraulic lift autocalibration procedure before the hitch will operate normally.
