New Holland NH 1064 – EDC (Electronic Draft Control) module: EDC Hydraulic Valve Raise Solenoid Open Circuit

The electrical circuit providing power or ground to the solenoid valve responsible for raising the rear hitch is broken or interrupted.

   Inspect the EDC Valve Raise Solenoid: Test the solenoid coil for continuity and proper resistance to rule out an internal break in the coil.

   Check the Wiring Harness: Inspect the wiring between the EDC controller and the raise solenoid for chafing, breaks, or disconnected plugs.

   Check the Central Controller (XCM): Verify that the controller is outputting the correct voltage to the solenoid when a 'raise' command is initiated from the cab.

   Locate the EDC Valve Block

   Find the hydraulic control valve block at the rear of the tractor and identify the 'Raise' solenoid (often labeled Y12 in wiring diagrams).

   Disconnect and Inspect

   Unplug the harness connector from the raise solenoid. Clean the contacts and look for pushed-out pins or corrosion.

   Repair or Replace

   If the wiring harness is damaged, repair the broken wire. If the solenoid coil tests open (infinite resistance), remove the retaining nut, slide the old solenoid coil off the valve stem, and install a new one.

   Clear the Code

   Once the physical repair is made, use a diagnostic tool or the tractor's onboard diagnostic menu to clear code NH 1064.

   Test Operation

   Test the rear hitch using the cab controls to ensure it raises and lowers smoothly.

   Recalibrate

   You will likely need to perform a Hydraulic Lift Autocalibration routine. The system may prompt you with code NH 1024 ('Perform Hydraulic Lift Autocalibration') after the repair is completed.
