New Holland NH 14091 – ADIC (Advanced Display Instrument Cluster / Dash) or Transmission Control Module: Transmission output speed short to VCC or open circuit

The controller is detecting an abnormally high voltage (a short to the battery/VCC) or a complete lack of electrical continuity (an open circuit) on the circuit for the transmission output speed sensor.

   Locate the transmission output speed sensor, which is often positioned near the right-hand axle or on the transmission housing.

   Disconnect the sensor's connector (e.g., connector C038).

   Measure the electrical resistance across the component side of the sensor's pins using a multimeter. A healthy sensor should read approximately 0.80K Ohms to 1.2K Ohms. If the reading falls outside this range, the sensor is faulty.

   If the sensor tests okay, turn the key start on and check the wiring harness for a short to positive voltage (+Ve/VCC) or an open circuit.

   If the sensor and wiring are intact but the fault persists, inspect the speed sensor inductive ring inside the transmission for damage or missing signals.

   In rare instances, if the sensor and wiring harness are perfectly fine, the ADIC (dash cluster) itself may have failed internally and will require inspection or a reset.

   Remove faulty sensor

   If the sensor failed the resistance test, remove the faulty transmission output speed sensor from the housing.

   Install new sensor

   Install the new transmission output speed sensor.

   Repair or replace wiring harness

   If the wiring harness was found to be shorted to battery voltage or open, repair or replace the damaged section of the harness.

   Reconnect sensor

   Reconnect the sensor connector securely.

   Clear error code

   Once the physical cause of the error code has been rectified, use the tractor's display or a diagnostic tool to clear the error code.

   Test system

   Test the system for normal operation by driving the tractor to ensure the code does not return.

7. 7

   Replace or reset ADIC

   If the code immediately returns and all external components test perfectly, replace or reset the main dash cluster (ADIC).
