New Holland NH 15001 – Fast Steer Controller (KA Module): Exceeding safe operating wheel speed (10 km/h) with system still enabled or still active. Code not active fast steer lamp flashes instead.
Issue description
This code indicates a safety threshold breach within the New Holland Fast Steer™ system. The Fast Steer system is programmed to automatically deactivate when the tractor's ground speed exceeds 10 km/h. If the system remains active or enabled when the tractor crosses this speed threshold, the system disables itself, logs code NH 15001, and flashes the Fast Steer indicator lamp on the dashboard.

Check the cause
Confirm with the operator if they are attempting to hold the inner Fast Steer rim while accelerating past 10 km/h (operator error).
Check the tractor's radar or transmission output speed sensors for erroneously high ground speed readings.
Look for concurrent fault codes (like NH 15002 or NH 15003) indicating an open or short circuit in the steering wheel proximity sensor.
Access the 'H-Menu' Diagnostic Mode via the Analog Digital Instrument Cluster (ADIC) to check the live status of the proximity sensor (PRO) and steering valve LVDT sensor.
Repair steps
Clear and Test
Clear the fault code. Test drive the tractor by engaging the Fast Steer system at a low speed (e.g., 5 km/h) and smoothly accelerating past 10 km/h. Verify if the system automatically deactivates as designed without throwing the code.
System Calibration
If the code returns or the system behaves erratically, recalibrate the Fast Steer system. Enter the H1 menu via the ADIC. The display will show 'PRO' (proximity sensor), 'LVDT' (linear variable differential transformer), or 'deF' (default values). Use the 'dimming' button on the dash to enter the PRO calibration routine and follow the on-screen prompts to recalibrate the steering wheel sensor.
Harness Inspection
If calibration fails, inspect the wiring harness connecting the steering wheel proximity sensor, the Fast Steer Control Module (KA), and the Fast Steer steering valve for chafing or loose pins.
Component Replacement
If the ground speed radar is accurate and the wiring is intact but the system still fails to recognize the speed threshold or proximity inputs, replace the Fast Steer Control Module (KA).
