Check the cause

  1. Inspect the Fast Steer inner rim switch on the steering wheel for physical damage, debris, or sticking, ensuring it springs back to neutral freely.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors (specifically connector C514) between the steering wheel switch and the Fast Steer Controller (KA module) for chafed wires, loose pins, or corrosion.

  3. Test the redundant safety switch circuit for proper continuity using a multimeter when the switch is engaged and disengaged.

  4. Check if the system lost its calibration parameters (indicated if fault code 15024 is also present), which may just require a recalibration via the diagnostic menu.

Repair steps

  1. Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Remove the steering wheel center cap/cover.

Remove the steering wheel center cap/cover to access the Fast Steer switch assembly and its wiring connections.

  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (C514).

Disconnect the electrical connector (C514) for the Fast Steer steering wheel switch.

  4. Remove the retaining screws holding the faulty Fast Steer switch assembly.

Remove the retaining screws holding the faulty Fast Steer switch assembly to the steering column/wheel hub.

  5. Install the new Fast Steer switch assembly.

Install the new Fast Steer switch assembly and secure it with the retaining hardware.

  6. Reconnect the electrical connector.

Reconnect the electrical connector, ensuring it clicks firmly into place.

  7. Reassemble the steering wheel covers.

    Reassemble the steering wheel covers.

  8. Reconnect the battery.
