New Holland NH 15015 – Fast Steer Controller (KA): Cold oil, temperature below 5 degrees C. Error code not active fast steer lamp flashes instead.

The tractor's hydraulic/transmission oil temperature has dropped below 5°C (41°F). As a safety precaution, the system disables the Fast Steer function because the oil is too thick/cold for safe and responsive operation. Instead of logging a hard active error, the system alerts the operator by flashing the fast steer lamp on the dashboard.

   Verify actual oil temperature and ambient conditions to determine if the code is normal due to a cold start.

   Check sensor output using the transmission module's 'H9' diagnostic menu (on supported models) to see if the temperature sensor input is registering correctly after warm-up.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector going to the transmission/hydraulic oil temperature sensor for an open circuit, corrosion, or damage.

   Warm Up the Machine

   Start the tractor and allow the hydraulic/transmission oil to warm up above 5°C. If the fast steer lamp stops flashing and the system engages, no repair is necessary.

   Replace the Sensor (if faulty)

   If the oil is warm but the H9 menu (or diagnostic tool) shows an open circuit or a reading below 5°C, the temperature sensor is faulty. Locate the hydraulic/transmission oil temperature sensor on the transmission housing, disconnect the wiring harness, unthread the old sensor, and install the replacement.

   Calibrate the System

   After replacing the sensor or servicing the Fast Steer system, you may trigger a related code: NH 15024 (System not calibrated). You will need to enter the Fast Steer/Turn Assist System 'H1' Service Menu to recalibrate the proximity sensor and steering wheel engagement positions.
