New Holland NH 2011 – Transmission Control Unit (TCU) or Electronic Management Unit (EMU): Clutch Pedal Potentiometer Signal too Low

The signal voltage returning from the clutch pedal potentiometer has dropped below the minimum acceptable threshold, meaning the system cannot accurately determine the clutch pedal's position.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the clutch pedal potentiometer for physical damage, chafing, or a short to ground.

   Verify that the sensor is receiving the correct 5-volt reference signal and has a solid ground connection from the controller (an open circuit on the 5V supply will cause the signal to drop low).

   Test the potentiometer's resistance sweep with a multimeter. The resistance should change smoothly as the pedal is depressed. If there are dead spots or the resistance drops to zero, the sensor is internally faulty.

   Check the clutch pedal disconnect switch (Bottom of Clutch / BOC switch) for proper adjustment, as misadjustment can trigger related clutch pedal errors.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Sensor

   Locate the clutch pedal potentiometer, which is mechanically linked to the clutch pedal assembly in the cab.

   Remove the Faulty Sensor

   Unplug the electrical connector and unbolt the potentiometer from its mounting bracket.

   Install the New Sensor

   Mount the replacement potentiometer and reconnect the mechanical linkage and electrical harness.

   Recalibrate the Transmission

   CRITICAL STEP. Because the new sensor will have slightly different end-limit voltage values, you must perform a transmission/clutch calibration using the tractor's onboard diagnostic menu or a service tool. Failure to calibrate will often result in fault code NH 2024.
