New Holland NH 2070 – Transmission Control Module (TCU) or Armrest/Vehicle Control Module (ATC): Voltage with lever in forward too high

This fault code indicates that the forward switch input from the shuttle lever (also known as the FNRP Pod - Forward/Neutral/Reverse/Park) is shorted to +12 Volts or to the 5-Volt reference circuit. The controller is receiving a voltage signal that exceeds the expected parameters when the operator places the lever into the forward position.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading from the shuttle lever/FNRP pod to the transmission controller for any chafing, pinched wires, or exposed copper that could cause a short to a 12V power source or the 5V reference line.

   Disconnect the shuttle lever switch connector and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or bent terminals that could bridge the voltage circuits.

   With the key ON, use a multimeter to probe the forward switch input circuit at the connector. Verify if the 12V or 5V short is present on the harness side when disconnected. If voltage is still too high on the signal wire while disconnected, the short is in the wiring harness. If the voltage is normal, the internal switch of the shuttle lever is shorted.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical spikes during repair.

   Access the Switch

   Remove the steering column cowl covers or the armrest control console covers (depending on whether your model has a column-mounted shuttle or an armrest FNRP pod).

   Remove the Faulty Lever

   Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the shuttle lever assembly. Remove the mounting screws/bolts securing the lever to the column or armrest.

   Install the New Part

   Mount the replacement shuttle lever/FNRP pod and secure the fasteners.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical harness back into the new switch. Reinstall all plastic covers and trim pieces.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the key ON, clear the inactive fault codes from the instrument cluster/display, and test the forward and reverse shuttle operation to ensure the code does not return.
