New Holland NH 2075 – Transmission Controller (TCU) / Drivetrain ECU: No usable signals from the flywheel sensor, and ERPM is greater than 300.

The engine is running (Engine RPM is over 300), but the controller is receiving missing, erratic, or mathematically impossible data from the flywheel speed sensor.

   Visual Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness leading to the flywheel speed sensor on the bell housing. Look for chafed wires, melted insulation, or rodent damage.

   Connector Check: Disconnect the sensor and check for water ingress, corrosion, or pushed-back pins in the connector.

   Circuit Testing: Use a multimeter to check for continuity between the sensor connector and the transmission controller harness. Verify there is no short-to-ground or short-to-power.

   Sensor Mounting: Ensure the sensor is securely bolted down. A loose sensor will increase the air gap to the flywheel tone ring, causing signal dropout.

   Tone Ring Inspection: If possible, inspect the flywheel teeth/tone ring through the sensor hole for missing teeth, heavy debris, or damage.

   Power Down

   Turn off the machine, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal.

   Locate the Sensor

   Locate the flywheel speed sensor, which is mounted on the engine bell housing / transmission input housing.

   Removal

   Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor. Remove the retaining bolt holding the sensor in place and carefully pull the sensor straight out of the housing.

   Clean the Port

   Wipe the mounting surface and the sensor bore clean to ensure the new sensor seats perfectly flat (an improper seat will cause an incorrect air gap).

   Installation

   Insert the new OEM flywheel speed sensor. Install and tighten the retaining bolt to the manufacturer's torque specification.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back in and reconnect the battery.

   Clear and Test

   Use a diagnostic tool to clear the NH 2075 fault code. Start the engine and verify that the code does not return. Note: If transmission shifting is harsh after repair, a transmission clutch calibration may need to be performed.
