New Holland NH 2076 – Transmission Controller (TCU): Flywheel Speed Sensor open circuit

The transmission controller is no longer receiving an engine speed signal from the flywheel speed sensor, indicating a break in the electrical circuit, an unplugged connector, or a completely failed sensor.

   Inspect the wiring harness connection leading to the flywheel speed sensor for disconnected plugs, chafed wires, or corrosion that would cause an open circuit.

   Test the wiring continuity between the sensor connector and the transmission controller to isolate whether the open circuit is in the machine's wiring harness or internal to the sensor itself.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks reveal a broken wire or damaged connector plug, repair the harness connection.

   Replace Sensor

   If the harness and connectors are intact and have continuity, remove and change the flywheel speed sensor.

   Recalibrate

   After replacing the sensor, you must perform a flywheel speed sensor/torque calibration to prevent a secondary fault code (Code 2124: 'Flywheel speed sensor not calibrated').
