New Holland NH 2094 – Transmission Control Module (TCM) / XCM: Low Clutch not calibrated

The transmission control module has lost or has not successfully completed the fill-time and pressure calibration for the 'Low' clutch pack. Without this calibration, the tractor may experience harsh, delayed, or erratic shifting, or it may refuse to shift into certain gears.

   Transmission Oil Temperature: Verify the transmission fluid is at normal operating temperature (optimal is around 176°F/80°C).

   Check for Active Electrical Faults: Ensure there are no active solenoid circuit codes (e.g., 2098, 2099, 2100, 2101) which will instantly fail the calibration.

   Hydraulic Pressure Check: If the tractor repeatedly fails calibration, check the base hydraulic pressure, transmission pump, suction screens, and internal seals.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on level ground, apply the handbrake, and turn off the air conditioning.

   Enter Calibration Mode

   With the tractor off, press and hold the clutch pedal (or hold both the Upshift and Downshift buttons simultaneously, depending on the model). Start the engine while holding the button(s).

   Verify Temperature

   The instrument cluster should display 'CAL' followed by the transmission oil temperature.

   Set Engine RPM

   Use the hand throttle to set the engine speed to a steady 1200 RPM (+/- 50 RPM).

   Engage Forward

   Place the shuttle lever into the Forward position.

   Select the Clutch

   Press the Upshift button to select the first clutch (usually Clutch A / Low Clutch).

   Calibrate

   Press and hold the Downshift button. The display will show a flashing number that begins to scroll up as hydraulic pressure is modulated.

   Wait for RPM Drop

   Keep holding the button until the engine speed decreases by exactly 50 RPM. At this point, the calibration number will stop flashing and alternate with the clutch identifying letter, indicating the fill time has been learned.

   Save and Exit

   Release the button. You can proceed to calibrate the remaining clutches (B, C, D, etc.) using the same method. Once finished, turn the key switch to the OFF position to save the new calibration figures into the TCM's non-volatile memory.
