New Holland NH 3012 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Air (boost) Temperature Signal - NO SIGNAL

Issue description

The control module is not receiving a valid voltage reading from the intake manifold/boost temperature sensor. A 'No Signal' or 'Below Range Min' condition typically indicates an open circuit, a disconnected wiring harness, a broken wire, or a completely failed sensor.

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the boost temperature/intake manifold temperature sensor wiring harness and connector for physical damage, corrosion, or a disconnected plug.

  2. Disconnect the harness connector and check continuity between the sensor plug and the Engine ECU pins to rule out a broken wire or short circuit.

  3. If wiring is intact and a replacement sensor does not clear the code, test the system with a known-good ECU to verify if the original ECU has an internal fault.
