New Holland NH 3055 – Engine Control Module (ECM) / EDC7: LS Power stage cold start lamp - NO SIGNAL

The control module detects an open circuit on the low-side driver (ground circuit) for the 'Wait to Start' / cold start indicator lamp, meaning the bulb is burnt out, the LED has failed, or there is a broken wire/disconnected plug between the controller and the dash.

   Turn the ignition key to the ON position and verify if the 'Wait to Start' / cold start lamp illuminates during the initial startup sequence.

   Remove the dash panel and test the bulb or LED for continuity to rule out a simple blown filament.

   Use a multimeter to check for continuity on the wiring harness between the Engine ECM's cold start lamp output pin and the instrument cluster.

   Inspect the ECM connectors and cab bulkhead connectors for pushed-out pins, corrosion, or broken wires that would cause an open circuit.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts while working behind the dashboard.

   Access the Dash

   Remove the necessary trim panels to access the rear of the instrument cluster or the specific indicator light panel.

   Inspect/Replace the Bulb

   Remove the 'Wait to Start' lamp bulb. If the filament is broken (open circuit), replace the bulb with a new OEM equivalent.

   Repair Wiring (If Necessary)

   If the bulb is intact, trace the signal wire from the dash back to the Engine ECM. Locate the break or corroded connector and repair the wiring using appropriate splice kits or by repinning the connector.

   Reassembly

   Reinstall the instrument panel and reconnect the battery.

   Verification

   Turn the ignition to ON to verify the cold start lamp now illuminates during the pre-heat cycle and ensure the NH 3055 fault code changes from 'Active' to 'Inactive' or clears entirely.
