New Holland NH 3068 – Engine ECU: Injector solenoid valve Cylinder 3 - NOT PLAUSIBLE

The engine control module is detecting an irregular, implausible, or unclassifiable electrical signal from the fuel injector solenoid on cylinder number 3. This is typically caused by an internal failure of the injector solenoid, a wiring issue, or a communication error.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the Cylinder 3 injector for signs of chafing, melting, or corrosion.

   Test the Cylinder 3 injector cable for short circuits (e.g., short circuit on the low side to the battery or high side to ground).

   Measure the resistance of the Cylinder 3 injector solenoid valve with a multimeter to verify if it falls within OEM specifications (an open or grounded circuit indicates a dead solenoid).

   Ensure there are no fuel filter restrictions causing low fuel supply to the CP3 pump, which can trigger secondary injector codes.

   Verify that the injector trim code version is correctly programmed into the ECU.

   Power Down

   Turn off the machine, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Injector

   Remove the engine valve cover or necessary engine cowlings to access the fuel injectors.

   Harness Repair (If Applicable)

   If the diagnostic circuit test revealed a short or break in the wiring, repair the damaged section of the injector harness or replace the harness entirely.

   Remove Faulty Injector

   If the wiring is intact but the injector failed the resistance test, disconnect the electrical connector from the Cylinder 3 injector.

   Disconnect Fuel Lines

   Loosen and remove the high-pressure fuel injection line for cylinder 3. Cap the rail and line to prevent contamination.

   Remove the injector hold-down clamp/bolt and carefully extract the faulty injector. Install the new or remanufactured OEM injector with new seals/O-rings.

   Reassembly

   Reinstall the hold-down clamp and the fuel injection line, torquing all fittings to the exact OEM specifications for your specific engine model.

   Bleed and Clear

   Reconnect the battery, bleed the fuel system of air if required by the engine type, and use a diagnostic scan tool to clear the NH 3068 fault code.
