New Holland NH 3080 – Engine Controller (Engine ECU / ECM): Injector solenoid valve Cylinder 4 - NOT PLAUSIBLE

The Engine Control Module has detected an electrical signal or response from the fuel injector on Cylinder 4 that falls outside of expected operational parameters, indicating an intermittent connection, abnormal resistance, or a mechanical/electrical mismatch in the injector's solenoid.

   Visually inspect the engine wiring harness leading from the Engine ECU to the Cylinder 4 injector for chafing, heat damage, or pinched wires

   Disconnect the plug at the Cylinder 4 injector and the Engine ECU to check for pushed-out pins, corrosion, or moisture inside the connectors

   Using a multimeter, measure the resistance across the pins of the Cylinder 4 injector solenoid and compare to OEM specifications to check for internal failure

   Check the continuity of the wires between the injector plug and the ECU to rule out a broken wire

   Preparation

   Turn off the machine, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts or ECU damage.

   Access the Injector

   Remove any engine covers or intake components necessary to access the fuel rail and injectors. Locate Cylinder 4.

   Wiring Repair

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a damaged harness, repair the broken wires using OEM-approved splicing methods, or replace the injector harness section.

   Injector Replacement

   Clean the area around the Cylinder 4 injector thoroughly to prevent dirt from entering the engine. Disconnect the electrical connector from the injector. Loosen and remove the high-pressure fuel injector line. Remove the injector hold-down clamp/bolt and carefully extract the injector from the cylinder head. Install the new injector with a new copper sealing washer and O-rings. Torque the hold-down clamp to the OEM specification. Install the new high-pressure fuel line and torque the fittings.

   Reassembly and Bleeding

   Reconnect the electrical plug and the battery. Prime the fuel system to remove air.

   Code Clearing

   Connect a diagnostic tool to the machine's CAN-bus port and clear the NH 3080 fault code. Start the engine and verify that it runs smoothly and the code does not return.
