New Holland NH 3082 – Engine ECU (EDC - Electronic Diesel Control module): Injector solenoid valve Cylinder 4 - SOURCE LOW

This condition indicates that the engine controller has detected a low voltage signal, a short circuit to ground, or an open circuit on the wiring/cable for the cylinder 4 fuel injector solenoid.

   Check the injector cable for Cylinder 4 for a short circuit (High Side to Ground) or an open circuit

   Verify the voltage supply from the EDC to the injector to confirm if voltage is dropping below normal operating parameters

   Test the resistance of the Cylinder 4 injector solenoid to determine if the short is internal to the injector itself

   Depower ECU

   Disconnect the battery to depower the Engine ECU.

   Access injector

   Remove the valve cover or fuel rail components necessary to access the Cylinder 4 fuel injector.

   Disconnect injector

   Disconnect the electrical connector and high-pressure fuel line from the Cylinder 4 injector.

   Remove faulty injector

   Remove the injector hold-down clamp and extract the faulty injector.

   Install new injector

   Install the new OEM replacement injector and torque the hold-down clamp and fuel lines to specification.

   Program IMA code

   Use a diagnostic tool to program the 7-digit IMA calibration code (printed on the new injector body) into the Engine ECU. This ensures the ECU matches the injection quantities cylinder-by-cylinder.

   Clear fault code

   Clear the NH 3082 fault code from the EDC using the diagnostic tool.
