The electronic signal from the hand throttle's idle validation switch is reading below the acceptable voltage range or has an open circuit, meaning the system cannot verify if the hand throttle is in the idle position.

   Access the tractor's diagnostic 'H' routines via the instrument cluster. Navigate to menu item d16 to test the 'Hand throttle idle switch' state, and d17 to test the 'Hand throttle Not at idle switch' state.

   Check the wiring harness and connectors between the hand throttle assembly on the right-hand console/armrest and the ECU for open circuits, chafed wires, or a short to ground.

   Use a diagnostic PC tool (if available) to monitor the live voltage of the hand throttle idle switch to see if it drops out completely (open circuit) at the idle detent.

   Preparation

   Disconnect the tractor's battery before servicing electrical components to prevent short circuits.

   Access the Assembly

   Remove the right-hand console or armrest covers to access the hand throttle control module and potentiometer.

   Replacement

   If the wiring tests good but the switch fails the 'd16/d17' diagnostic test, the internal idle switch/potentiometer is faulty. Replace the hand throttle potentiometer or the entire electronic hand throttle module (depending on how it is serviced for your specific model).

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the new module and restore battery power.

   Calibration / Reset

   You must calibrate the new throttle position sensor. Slowly move the hand throttle smoothly from idle to full, then back to idle. Repeat this 2-3 times smoothly (do not pump rapidly). Turn the Key OFF and wait 10-30 seconds. Start the tractor and let the idle stabilize for a few minutes without touching the throttle to ensure the error is cleared and the idle is stable.
