New Holland NH 4011 – Arm Rest Module (ARU): Signal from Remote Flow potentiometer 3 (AUX 3) out of range.
Issue description
The voltage signal coming from the potentiometer (the dial/knob used to adjust the hydraulic flow rate for the 3rd auxiliary remote valve) is falling outside of the expected electrical parameters (either too high or too low). This condition typically points to an internal failure of the potentiometer (dead spots), a disconnected plug, an open circuit, or a short circuit in the wiring harness.

Check the cause
Check for related codes NH 4040 or NH 4041 (ARU Supply Voltage too low/high). If present, the issue is likely the 5V reference supply to the armrest rather than a single bad switch.
Inspect the AUX 3 flow control knob on the armrest for physical damage or sticking.
Remove the armrest cover and inspect the wiring harness connecting to the AUX 3 potentiometer. Look for pinched wires, broken solder joints, or loose connector pins.
Back-probe the potentiometer connector with a multimeter. Verify it is receiving the proper 5V reference voltage and ground. Monitor the signal wire while slowly turning the AUX 3 knob; the voltage should scale smoothly. If it drops out or spikes, the potentiometer has failed internally.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical damage.
Access the ARU
Remove the retaining screws on the armrest console to lift the cover and access the Electronic Draft Control (EHR) / remote valve control section.
Remove the Faulty Component
Locate the AUX 3 flow potentiometer. Carefully unplug its electrical connector.
Dismount the Potentiometer
Pull off the external adjustment knob. Remove the retaining nut or mounting screws holding the potentiometer to the armrest housing, and pull the unit out.
Install the New Part
Insert the replacement potentiometer, secure it with the retaining nut, and press the knob back onto the shaft.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical harness back into the new potentiometer. Reassemble the armrest console.
Calibrate
Reconnect the battery and turn the key on. Clear the inactive fault codes. Depending on the tractor model, you may need to perform a remote valve calibration procedure via the tractor's display monitor or an Electronic Service Tool (EST) so the ARU can learn the new potentiometer's minimum and maximum voltage values.
