New Holland NH 4105 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote) module: Rear Remote No.1 - Over Voltage

The feedback voltage from the position sensor (potentiometer/transducer) inside the first rear electro-hydraulic remote valve is exceeding the maximum expected threshold (typically above 4.5V or 5.0V). This indicates a short to a high-voltage power source, a failed internal sensor, or a wiring harness failure.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors running from the EHR controller to the rear remote valve stack for pinched wires, rubbed insulation, or corrosion that could cause a short to power.

   Use a multimeter or the New Holland Electronic Service Tool (EST) to monitor the live feedback voltage of Remote No.1. Verify if the voltage is stuck high (e.g., > 4.5V).

   Disconnect the electrical connector from Rear Remote No.1 and swap it with the connector for Rear Remote No.2 (if equipped). If the fault code changes to the corresponding Remote No.2 over-voltage code, the issue is internal to the Remote No.1 valve/sensor. If the fault code remains NH 4105, the issue is in the tractor's wiring harness or the EHR controller itself.

   Depressurize and Disconnect

   Lower all implements to the ground, turn off the tractor, and cycle the remote levers/buttons to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure. Disconnect the tractor's battery.

   Remove the Faulty Valve

   Disconnect the electrical connector and the hydraulic lines attached to the Rear Remote No.1 section. Remove the tie-bolts holding the remote valve stack together and carefully extract the Remote No.1 section.

   Install the Replacement

   Install the new electro-hydraulic remote valve section. Ensure all O-rings between the valve slices are seated correctly. Torque the stack tie-bolts to OEM specifications.

   Reassemble

   Reconnect the hydraulic lines and the electrical connector. Reconnect the battery.

   Calibrate the Valve

   Perform a remote valve calibration using the New Holland Electronic Service Tool (EST) or the tractor's onboard diagnostic monitor. Skipping this step will cause the EHR module to log a new fault code (e.g., NH 4216).

   Clear Codes

   Clear the inactive NH 4105 fault code and test the hydraulic remote for proper operation.
